Fashion is something we have to discover and explore ourselves. Fashion is not something dead, it’s a vivid living thing. We, fashion designers, live it out. Since the age of 12, I am certain of my dream in becoming an aspiring fashion designer. I want to design apparel that changes one from inside out, giving him or her confidence and vibe that they never had. Fashion changes, but style does not. One’s fashion style speaks about her personally, therefore, I dress up not for people to remember the outfit, but to remember me, as a person.

A dress is not simply formed by threads and fabrics. It is created by the beliefs and values of the designer. As a designer, I would like to be perceived as an inspiration and aspiration to others."

To me, Fashion Design is a form of art expression into the clothing and other lifestyle accessories. I believe a Fashion Designer has to have both creative and technical skills so that their designs can be put to life.

From young, I have a strong desire to create interesting subjects out of my tiny hands. My sister contributes to the realisation of my dream the most. When I was a kid, my sister and I  would re-design dolls’ clothing to cater to our likings. As I grew up, I’m very interested in Fashion which leads me to watch Fashion Weeks whenever I’m free. I would tend to imagine and generate different clothing design ideas in my mind while watching them. Through all these that sparks my interest in Fashion Design, I have come to learn that it has since become my dream to be a Fashion Designer.

In my work, I like to break boundaries. I always push my limits to produce work with originality and it is part of my satisfaction. I am determined when I set my mind to achieve what I want to achieve. wwwwI like to work with elements that have a story or meaning behind it. I adore traditions and cultures and find them really interesting as one takes years to form."

At first glance, it looks as if I have a huge style crisis, maybe it's a little chaotic and diverse, but it represents me as a designer and I want to put a piece of myself into my work.

I believe style itself is a form of design. Individual garments are one thing, but the way you put them together, that’s something unique and different. You either tend to have a knack for it, or you don’t. It’s a very creative process, but that’s not to say it can’t be taught, and that’s exactly what I love about personal styling!

I want to explore the links and relationships between style, culture, creativity and society. For me, trends are not what matter but stories, and style is not about fashion but life. As an aspiring stylist, I believe that understanding fashion and pinpointing your personal style is an invaluable part of feeling fulfilled and being the best you can be.
